I spent the whole night (6:30 PM-6:30 AM) at Relay for Life, an overnight walk for cancer. I've gotten a cold from the stress of the AP exams, and I must say that I was absolutely miserable for a long part of the night. From early evening to midnight, I was perfectly fine and hanging out with friends/going on hilarious adventures. In the early, early morning however, my nose was all clogged up and my throat was so scratchy. From around 3 AM-6 AM, I upped my hyper level again. At home, I've been sleeping on-and-off all day and my cold has gotten worse.
I'm just dealing with a tiny little cold that's going to over in a couple days. Cancer patients, on the other hand, live in utmost misery for months and sometimes years. Relay for Life is an amazing event and I had a very eye-opening experience that gave me a chance to partake in the spirit of giving back along with some of my best friends.
Never take life for granted. Give back.
